For drafters and designers

Skip the Plat-to-CAD Trace. Finish in Minutes.

A drafting service lives on turnaround, and the slowest part of a residential site plan is the first part: getting the parcel to scale and the setbacks right. PlotForge™ does that from the address, places the existing footprints, and either exports a layered DXF for your CAD or finishes the whole sheet with survey-style presentation and your logo in the title block. Your clients send an address; you send back a site plan.

How do drafters produce residential site plans faster?

Load the parcel from the address and PlotForge™ draws the recorded property lines to scale, computes the setbacks and places the existing buildings from public records in minutes. Export a layered DXF and finish in your CAD, or finish the sheet in PlotForge with dimensions, north arrow, bearings and your logo in the title block, and save every client's plan in your account.

What a drafting service gets from PlotForge™

The parts of the job that are the same every time, done the same way every time, so the hour goes into the drawing the client is paying for:

The parcel, to scale — recorded property lines with dimensions and bearings from the address or the parcel ID, no calibration exercise
Setbacks computed — from the real lot edges, labeled, with corner-to-line dimensions on demand and the far ones hidden
Existing footprints — the house, garage and shed from public records in one click, corners dragged onto the roofline
A layered DXF — twenty-five named drafting layers into your CAD, line styles carried through
Or a finished sheet — true extension-line dimensions, five north-arrow styles, a scale bar, bearings, hatching, notes and pointers, a cover sheet
Your name on it — your company and drawn-by initials from My Info on every title block; your logo in place of ours with White-Label

How a drafter uses PlotForge™ on a client job

1

Load the client's lot

Address or parcel ID. The recorded lines draw to scale with the owner and parcel number in the title block.

2

Add the existing

One click places the footprints; trace the drive and walks over the aerial. Import the client's plat or sketch as a calibrated underlay if there is one.

3

Draw or export

Place the new work and dimension it in PlotForge, or export the DXF and finish in your CAD.

4

Deliver

The to-scale PDF with the cover sheet and your title block, the DXF if the client wants it, and the plan saved for the revision.

Drafters and designers FAQ

Yes. The exported sheets are yours, and with the White-Label add-on your logo sits in the title block in place of ours. Your company name and drawn-by initials fill from My Info on every sheet either way.
No. Export the layered DXF after the parcel, setbacks and footprints are in place and finish in your own CAD. Many drafters do both: PlotForge for the residential permit sheets, the DXF for the jobs that go into a full set.
Import it as a PDF or image, calibrate it on two known points so it locks to true scale, and trace over it with every tool. If it is a recorded survey, trace the boundary and promote it; the setbacks follow the survey and the sheet says so.
On a subscription, yes: the whole plan saves to your account with autosave as you draw, reopens from any computer, and reopening never uses a plan credit. Studio keeps 20 projects and Contractor keeps 100. One-time packs export but do not save.
Yes, on a subscription. Download the whole site plan as one plan file, email it, and a colleague opens it in PlotForge and keeps editing. Opening a plan file never uses a plan credit.
No. The property lines are the recorded parcel lines from public records, drawn to scale over an aerial photo. That is what most building departments accept for a permit site plan, and it is not a boundary survey or an engineered drawing. If your office requires a sealed survey for this project, PlotForge can trace that recorded survey as the boundary and the sheet prints a notice saying so.
PlotForge™ covers all 50 states and Washington, D.C.; the only exceptions in the country are named on the coverage page. It is also expanding into Canada, starting with select counties in Ontario and Alberta. The most reliable check is free: sign up, type the address, and watch the lot load.
